Francesco Molinari waltzed into the clubhouse shooting a final round 62 on his way to an eight-shot victory at the Quicken Loans National. The highest-ranked Italian in the world, Molinari has now won on both the PGA Tour and European Tour over the last six weeks. With that thumping victory, Molinari is now ranked 16th in the world. Molinari has all but guaranteed his chances of making his third Ryder Cup team. With his eighth professional triumph that’s seen him win on three continents, the final box Molinari wants to check is a victory in one of the four majors.

Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson headline another soft field this week. The two lefties may be the biggest names, but it’s Tony Finau who will cost the most in DraftKings dollars this week ($11,500). Three more golfers will run for over 10K in Russell Henley, Xander Schauffele, and Webb Simpson. The next tier of golfers, headlined by the Chilean wonderkid Joaquin Niemann includes Tour regulars Brian Harman, Charles Howell III, Jimmy Walker, J.B. Holmes, Ryan Moore, Danny Lee, Kevin Na, and Kevin Streelman. Below that range, your notables are Keegan Bradley, Brandt Snedeker, Anirban Lahiri, Jamie Lovemark, Brian Gay, Kevin Kisner, rookie tour-winner Aaron Wise, Andrew Putnam, Ollie Schniederjans, Scott Piercy, and Bill Haas.

Old White TPC is a course that sets up nicely for the top ball strikers and bombers. Big wide-open fairways allow the big fellas to grip it and rip it with drivers on almost every hole .With wide open fairways, and not too much punishment for missing them, players who gain a lot of strokes: tee-to-green and players who rank highly in strokes gained: approach will fare well at the site. Old White TPC is a par 70 that measures 7,286 yards, as per usual with Par 70s scoring well on the par 4s is a must. Making pars won’t be enough this week, players must have a high par 4 birdie % on the par 4s to contend this week. While birdies are needed on the 4s, making par on the pars on the 3s is. Old White TPC’s biggest challenge are the long par threes. The course features three par 3s measuring between 200 and 235 yards, so look for players who are efficient on par 3s ranging from 200-225.

After severe flooding forced the 2016 Greenbrier Classic to be canceled, the restoration of the course involved updating and restructuring the contours of the greens. This will be the second year that players will be competing on this version of Greenbrier’s putting surface. That means a handful of players will have never seen these greens, and the rest of the field has just one year of experience on them. The best putters on Tour usually have superior green reading abilities. Since there aren’t much memories on these greens the best putters will be rewarded heavily. Look at players who rank highly in Strokes gained: putting and one-putt percentage will be more important than usual.

Key Stats:

Par 4 Birdie or Better %

Strokes gained: tee-to-green

Strokes gained: approach

Par 3 efficiency 200-225 yards
