Miniature golf enthusiasts rejoice: a new course is entering Ocean City.

The new 18-hole mini-golf spot will be located at 45th Street and Coastal Highway, near the 45th Street Taphouse Bar & Grille, as part of a larger-scale mixed-use construction project.

In October 2018, Planet Maze, a long-standing entertainment venue on 33rd Street, known for its miniature golf and laser badge, is permanently closed. A new Hilton hotel will be built in its place.

But with about 12 different courses in the seaside town, visitors and residents of Ocean City will have no trouble finding their dose of mini-golf.

The design of the new mini golf course, called Tap It In, shows that the theme will be that of the beach, inscribing in the aesthetics of Ocean City.

In addition to the mini golf course, the 45th Street Village global project will include a new 120-room Marriott hotel and conference center called Aloft Ocean City. The construction of the hotel is expected to be completed in April.

Originally, Ocean City Boardwalk, Inc., the company in charge of the project, was planning to create a retail space in the village, but the site plan has been updated to replace the site. sales area by a mini-golf.

In recent meetings, the Ocean City Planning and Zoning Commission and Ocean City City Council have approved updated plans for the construction of a mini-golf course as part of the project.

City officials have expressed the need to bring new entertainment to Ocean City, what this mini-golf spot would fill. We do not know when the course will open soon.
