Piers Morgan throws support behind Team USA at Ryder Cup after bemoaning Brexit outcome

The British motormouth has decided to route for America at Hazeltine in a protest against the outcome of the EU referendum

Piers Morgan has offered fans an even greater incentive to get behind Team Europe at the Ryder Cup after deciding to support Team USA at Hazeltine.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, incensed by the UK’s decision to vote Leave this summer, is now prepared to get behind Davis Love III’s team as they bid to win for the first time since 2008.

Morgan vented in a Paddy Power video that America was ‘bigger, better and louder’ than Europe and that he would be changing allegiance for one week only.

“I voted Remain this summer, but 17 million of you inexplicably didn’t,” an exasperated Morgan told Paddy Power. “Now we’re supposed to pretend that never happened and we’re one big happy, European family again at the Ryder Cup?

“I owe some of my fondest memories to the mighty U S of A – judging America’s Got Talent, winning Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice, having my own prime time chat show, and even being publicly reviled for questioning their gun laws.

“And it makes no sense, if Britain doesn’t want to be a part of the EU, why it should support Team Europe?

“They’ve been Trump-ed by America. I’m shooting for the USA all the way. And, hey, if my old mentor Donald Trump gets into power, maybe I’ll be back-in their living rooms every night, too.”
