Rickie Fowler Withdraws From Second Straight Playoff Event

If it wasn’t weird enough walking the grounds all week at Ridgewood not seeing or interacting with one of the most beloved in the game, well … it’s going to be another weird week.

Unfortunately, the Boston area fans will miss Fowler this week at TPC Boston due to a lingering oblique injury. The 29-year-old sits in a comfortable spot in the FedEx Cup standings  at 22nd and already guaranteed himself a trip to the BMW Championship at Aroninmink in two weeks.

Rickie won at TPC Boston three years ago; but something became obviously wrong during round 2 of the PGA Championship at Bellerive.   Let’s observe and see how it plays out.  For the meantime, the city of Boston has to deal with Tiger Woods to watch in a playoff event.

I’m sure Rick will figure it out.
