The Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championship will celebrate its 34th edition by heading to the PGA Catalunya Resort for the first time.

The competition, open to anyone aged under 18 at the start of the year, has helped produce high-profile figures of the game including major champion Justin Rose, European No 1 Tommy Fleetwood and three-time Solheim Cup player Mel Reid.

The North Course at Quinta do Lago in the Algarve was the previous host of the annual event, which now moves to Barcelona, with coverage to be shown on Sky Sports.

“It’s not just about playing golf, the whole experience is an essential part of the finalists’ education as golfers and young people.”
