DUBLIN, Ohio — Tiger Woods added plenty of excitement to the 2018 Memorial Tournament in the Columbus suburb of Dublin as he announced Wednesday that he will be participating in this year’s tournament.
The 14-time major champion has won five Memorial Tournaments in his career, last winning the tournament in 2012.
Woods has not participated in the tournament the past two years due to injuries so his return is sure to bring a buzz to central Ohio.
The current #1 golfer in the world, Justin Thomas, also announced Wednesday that he would be joining the field of competitors for this year’s Memorial Tournament.
The founder of the tournament and all-time leader in major tournament wins, Jack Nicklaus, took to Twitter to welcome the two new prominent competitors.
Woods and Thomas join a field of golfers such as Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson and Jason Day as well as defending Memorial champion Jason Dufner and reigning 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed.
Another exciting announcement is that Tiger Woods will be pairing up with two-time Super Bowl champion and five-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning for the Memorial Tournament Pro-Am on Wednesday, May 30th.
It’s shaping up to be another wonderful Memorial Tournament this year in the Columbus area as we are just two weeks away from the 2018 annual classic at Muirfield Village.
The 2018 Memorial Tournament will start on Thursday, May 31st and will conclude on Sunday, June 3rd.
